Airalo refunds: eligibility, Airmoney and a useful request checklist

Understand Airalo refund routes, the difference between account credit and a payment refund, and the evidence to prepare when an eSIM has not worked.

An Airalo refund depends on the reason, purchase route, activation and usage, and the terms that apply to the order. Installation trouble, buying the wrong destination and changing travel plans should not be treated as one automatic refund rule. Record the facts of your order before submitting a request.

Documentation reviewed on 23 October 2026. This page explains published provider information and a practical support workflow. It does not decide an individual claim or replace applicable consumer rights.

Identify who sold the package

Airalo's terms of use, updated July 2026 , direct customers who bought through another seller to that seller. Check the receipt and purchase account so you approach the right organisation.

Its withdrawal provision ends after 14 days or activation, whichever happens first. For activated-service faults attributable to Airalo or retirement of the service, refund/replacement conditions include requesting within 30 days of the issue, cooperating with troubleshooting and failure to restore access within 10 days of the request. Partly used credit limits a refund to the unused portion. Read the terms for your order and explain the facts to support.

This is why a broad claim such as “installed means never refundable” is incomplete, while “all unused data is refundable” is also unsafe. Preserve the purchase terms and explain your situation accurately.

Account credit and money back are different outcomes

Airalo's help article on a wrong purchase or changed plans describes an eligible-order refund button in package history or order details. It describes Airmoney-only options for wrong-purchase and changed-plan reasons, and other methods for installation or service problems. Expired or fully used orders may not show the button; support is the alternative route.

Before accepting an option, check whether it is account credit for a future purchase or a refund to the original payment method. Keep the confirmation and the amount. Do not promise someone a bank refund merely because the app offers an Airmoney balance.

The legal terms allow up to 30 business days for a payment-method refund to arrive. A provider approval and the eventual bank posting are separate stages. If the date is unclear, ask support which stage the order has reached rather than submitting duplicate requests immediately.

A clear request is more useful than a long complaint

You can organise a message in this form:

Order reference: [reference]. I purchased [package] on [date] for [destination]. My account shows [activation/usage state]. The problem began on [date/time]. The exact error is [message]. I have tried [steps]. Please confirm the available resolution and refund method under the terms for this order.

This is an editorial template, not wording required by Airalo. Include only facts you can support. Do not claim that support approved a refund when you have only received an automated acknowledgement.

While support investigates

Follow the package-specific troubleshooting instructions and record each material change. Avoid deleting the profile just to make the account appear unused; that does not establish a refund entitlement and can complicate recovery. If a support agent asks you to reinstall, keep the instructions and confirm which account workflow they mean.

If you must buy alternative connectivity to continue travelling, keep that decision separate from the unresolved claim. A replacement purchase does not by itself demonstrate that the original provider owes you its cost.

Common questions

The refund button is missing. Is the case closed?

No automated button means you should use the official support route for an explanation; it is not a decision this website can make.

Does requesting a refund stop future payments?

Check any renewal or automatic top-up setting separately. Keep confirmation of both actions if you need a refund and want to prevent another purchase.

Should I buy another eSIM before diagnosing the problem?

First establish whether the issue is compatibility, settings, coverage or the package itself. Our travel checklist and phone-change guide help organise those checks. This page does not require an affiliate purchase to pursue support.
