Your journey, your data
Plan your data before your package.
Build a reference for one person and all devices using their connection. The destination helps find a guide; it does not change estimated usage.

Your data reference
Estimated data budget
- Assumed usage
- Added headroom
Rounded up to 0.1 GB. This is not an advertised package.
Compare this budget with the included data and check that validity covers every day you need the connection.
Actual usage depends on your activities and settings. This tool does not verify any price or availability.
Current availability for Myanmar is unconfirmed: check the general catalog and each package’s included countries.
Estimate travel data by multiplying realistic daily usage by the number of days, then adding headroom you choose. The best starting point is usage measured on your own phone during comparable days. The planner's presets are editable examples, not certified averages or app benchmarks.
Official documentation reviewed on 23 October 2026. Numbers in this guide are illustrative assumptions and arithmetic, not consumption measurements collected by our editorial team.
Measure before multiplying
Check which apps use mobile data and what period the counter represents. On iPhone, Apple explains how to view and reset usage statistics . For Pixel, Google documents app usage and selectable periods . Other Android devices may have different menus.
Do not divide a counter accumulated over several months by the days in your last trip. Record the start, end and activities observed. A day spent mostly on home Wi-Fi does not represent a travel day, while a day full of video might overstate the needs of a trip without streaming.
Use the device counter for planning and compare it with the provider's figure for remaining allowance or charges. Google notes that carrier measurements may differ from those on the phone. Keep the time periods consistent when making the comparison.
A simple formula and a checkable example
Indicative budget = GB per day × days × (1 + headroom percentage).
If you assume 0.4 GB per day for 10 days, the base requirement is 4 GB. Adding 20% headroom gives 4.8 GB. These values demonstrate the calculation; they do not promise that 4.8 GB will suit every ten-day trip.
Scroll the table to see every column.
| Assumed daily usage | 7 days without headroom | 14 days without headroom |
|---|---|---|
| 0.15 GB per day | 1.05 GB | 2.10 GB |
| 0.40 GB per day | 2.80 GB | 5.60 GB |
| 1.00 GB per day | 7.00 GB | 14.00 GB |
The table compares assumptions only. Light, medium and heavy labels in the tool do not establish guaranteed usage for maps, social media or video. Enter your own value in the travel data planner , and include arrival and departure days when setting the duration.
Adjust for what you will actually do
List activities that differ from the measured day: connecting a laptop, sending videos, attending online meetings, automatic backups or using a tablet. If the measurement already included them, do not count them twice. If they are additional, increase the daily assumption or budget for them separately before selecting a package.
We do not assign a universal allowance to an hour of video or navigation. Quality settings, application behaviour and your actions change the traffic. Download suitable content in advance and limit unnecessary transfers. That changes actual demand without turning an estimate into a guarantee.
For a hotspot, include the connected devices too. Airalo's sharing guidance requires device and network support. The family and group guide helps compare independent and shared connections.
Gigabytes alone do not choose the product
After estimating, check destinations, validity, activation timing, services and the selected product's terms. Enough data in a package that expires before the return journey does not meet the whole need. An unlimited offer still requires checking any speed or usage conditions; consult the provider's current terms instead of relying on the label.
The planner does not search offers, read your phone's usage or identify an available commercial package. Compare the result manually with current prices and conditions, including roaming already present in your contract. A larger package with a lower unit price can still mean unnecessary total spending.
If topping up is part of your plan, verify that the relevant purchase supports it or offers another suitable way to add data. Do not assume that the process for a previous product will apply. Keep purchase details and access to support available before the allowance becomes urgent.
Check the estimate after the first few days
Compare observed consumption with the forecast over the same interval. If usage is higher, identify the responsible app or device before buying more data. Pixel supports data warnings and limits ; a limit can turn mobile data off, so decide whether you want only a warning.
Keep tickets, addresses and contacts available offline. Data headroom helps with volume, but it cannot fix a flat battery or a location without reception. That is why the budget is one part of preparation rather than a complete connectivity plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is 20% headroom required?
No. It is an illustrative option. Choose another percentage or none, considering how reliable your measurements are and how much a usage change would matter.
Does the result tell me which plan to buy?
No. It is a gigabyte budget to compare with current offers, validity and services. The tool does not certify product availability or suitability.
Can I use one value for the whole family?
Only if it represents the combined expected consumption. Estimate each phone separately for independent plans, or include all activities using a shared connection.
