Assess a Seychelles eSIM against the islands and accommodation on your itinerary, rather than treating it as a promise of continuous connectivity across the archipelago. Airalo offers plans on its Seychelles page . Compare them with home roaming and the Wi-Fi you expect to use.

More islands do not automatically mean more data
A stay at one property and a Mahé–Praslin–La Digue itinerary require different organisation. For the latter, the essential preparation is having documents and contacts ready for each move; that does not necessarily require a huge allowance.
Scroll the table to see every column.
| Part of the journey | What to prepare | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Arrival and first property | Address, contact and transfer confirmation | That the initial data connection will be instant |
| Changing islands | Ticket, time and booking reference offline | That terrestrial service continues throughout the crossing |
| Days at one property | Wi-Fi conditions and actual access | That a property name guarantees a particular speed |
| A day out | Downloaded maps, contacts and meeting point | That a national map measures signal at every location |
This is an organisational checklist. It does not certify any network on these islands and does not replace checking your stops with the provider and accommodation.
Which offer should you compare?
On the Airalo Seychelles listing , check the named network, allowance, validity, included services and package conditions. Confirm precise destinations when your itinerary includes islands or locations you cannot establish from the available information. Keep the provider's answer if access at a particular stop determines your purchase.
Compare the spending needed to cover the whole stay, including arrival and departure. A lower price per GB is not always a cheaper purchase. If your existing subscription includes usable roaming for the destination, include that in the decision.
To estimate consumption, separate what you will do outside accommodation from large uploads you can postpone. Downloading maps and documents in advance reduces dependence on a connection at inconvenient moments; it does not remove the need to check the plan.
An offline folder for every transfer
Prepare a note for each change of accommodation containing the property's name, supplied address, contact information and transfer details. Add downloaded tickets rather than only links to email messages or websites. Check that the material opens while the phone is temporarily offline.
If travelling with others, make sure another person can find the essential documents. Keeping every booking and contact on one device creates a dependency that buying more data will not solve.
When confirming arrangements with a property or service, check whether internet messaging is suitable or whether a conventional telephone call is needed. The WhatsApp and SMS guide explains the distinction between your usual number and the data line.
Connectivity during a crossing
A destination eSIM should not be described as guaranteed maritime internet. Ask your transport operator which connections are available and save what you will need on arrival. To avoid using onboard mobile services unintentionally, choose settings based on the operator's information; remaining offline while sailing is an option.
If your trip also includes a cruise, read the cruise eSIM guide . Keep terrestrial data, any onboard mobile network and Wi-Fi sold by the ship operator separate in your planning.
Prepare and test the phone
The pre-departure checklist covers compatibility, purchase-specific instructions and the selected data line. Before leaving the first location where help is available, try a lightweight page with Wi-Fi off. If you need to work, also test the actual application and identify an alternative: a network icon alone is not enough to plan a meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Does a national eSIM guarantee every island transfer?
No. Verify destinations and distinguish availability ashore from access during transfers. Do not treat the national package name as a promise for each crossing.
Can I rely only on accommodation Wi-Fi?
It may be enough for some trips, depending on the property's conditions and what you need outside. Prepare contacts, tickets and instructions offline regardless.
Do I need unlimited data?
Not automatically. Start with expected usage and read the conditions of any offer called unlimited. Compare the total cost with a suitable fixed allowance too.
