Compare the actual Airalo and Saily offers for the same itinerary, allowance and dates. There is no useful universal winner when one product is a short fixed-data package and the other has different validity, renewal or fair-use terms. Start with your requirements and compare the total amount payable for meeting them.

Build a comparable shortlist
Write down the destinations, number of days and devices that need connectivity. Add any essential requirement: a laptop connection, ordinary phone calls, SMS, a particular login method or the ability to buy more data. Check what your current mobile contract already provides.
Scroll the table to see every column.
| Question | Airalo evidence to inspect | Saily evidence to inspect |
|---|---|---|
| Does it fit the itinerary? | Selected package's included locations | Selected plan's destination list |
| Does it cover the dates? | Activation and expiry conditions | Activation window, validity and product type |
| Is the price comparable? | Final price for enough data and days | Final price, optional extras and renewal settings |
| What does unlimited mean? | Package-specific fair-use terms | The selected unlimited product's conditions |
| How is it managed? | Account interface and package instructions | App setup and the selected plan's instructions |
| What happens if plans change? | Applicable refund terms and account options | Current terms for the purchased plan and extras |
Keep a screenshot or note of the two offers at the same time. A headline starting price can refer to a smaller product than the one you need. Converting currencies mentally while overlooking expiry is not a meaningful saving calculation.
Setup is not identical across accounts and products
Airalo documents both a newer reusable-profile, package-based experience and its earlier individual-eSIM workflow. Check which one your account shows; do not assume every purchase requires a new profile. Airalo's setup documentation explains the distinction.
Saily's activation instructions describe pre-travel installation, selecting the correct line and enabling the required roaming setting. They also require a compatible, unlocked device and an internet connection for initial setup. Follow the specific instructions for your phone rather than copying another provider's APN.
There is a documentation detail worth checking before buying far in advance: Saily's current consumer terms distinguish regular plans with a 180-day activation window from subscription plans that activate on purchase, while a plan-management help page still describes 30 days. Ask Saily to confirm the terms of your selected product if the distinction affects your trip. We do not silently choose the more generous interpretation.
Data, calls and unlimited service
Do not describe either provider's entire range as one product. Check whether the selected offer is data-only or includes another service. Saily's current terms also address phone-number products with their own conditions; that does not mean an ordinary data plan includes a local number or works for every identity-verification system.
For unlimited data, read the actual limits and resets before deciding it suits sustained work. Airalo publishes a fair-use policy ; package-specific exceptions can matter. A connection that works for maps may still be unsuitable for a critical video meeting. Our hotspot work guide helps identify a realistic backup.
Refunds and renewal deserve their own check
Airalo's terms of use and account refund options distinguish circumstances rather than offering unconditional cancellation after use. Saily's refund help page also separates non-activated plans from activated or minimally used plans. Read the full current terms for the product, including extras and recurring charges.
Before payment, record whether you are buying once, enabling automatic top-up or starting a subscription. If you do not need recurring service, check the relevant switch and cancellation instructions. A refund request and stopping a future renewal are different actions; do not assume one automatically performs the other.
Which option should you choose?
For a short single-country trip, favour the suitable offer with the clearer total cost and enough validity. For several destinations, first eliminate products that omit any stop. For remote work, confirm tethering and realistic backup access before using price as the deciding factor. If ordinary calls or verification messages are essential, resolve those requirements before comparing data bundles.
